I am writing in response to your email below.
First, please be advised that you currently have a USMLE™ Step 1 and Step 2 Clinical Knowledge (CK) application in process. To terminate this Step 1 and Step 2 CK application, please go to
www.ecfmg.org and under IWA click "USMLE Step 1, Step 2 CK, and/or Step 2 CS" under Begin a New Application. Choose the option that you wish to reapply for Step 1. Once you select the option that you wish to reapply for this examination, you will then receive a message indicating that you currently have an application in process and will ask you if you wish to override your previous application. Click the override button to cancel your Step 1 application. Please note that you must also complete this procedure to cancel your Step 2 CK application.
Please note that your current Step 1 and Step 2 CK application will be cancelled in approximately twenty-four hours. You will be notified by email when your application has been cancelled.
Second, please be advised that when you override a USMLE application, the money which you had paid for that exam application is automatically credited back to your ECFMG® financial account. Thus, $1,730 will be credited back to your ECFMG financial account.
Therefore, when you apply using IWA for an eligibility period in 2009, you will then be able to select the “Use my credit towards my total due” option in the payment section of the application.
